Histrionic narcissists are frequently unreasonable in their demands, inequitable in the way they treat people, insensitive to the difficulties of others, and disproportional in their emotional response.
Trump built his following by promoting his version of historionic narcissism - in which everyone who supports him can easily jettison their civic responsibility in favor of portraying themselves as victims, and then easily engage in outrageous, irrational, and even illegal activities.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz exemplifies what it means to be a histrionic narcissist. He demonstrated and honed his skills as a student at Princeton, where he took advantage of the good will of other students by dragging them in pointless debates just to sound superior.
